As it says right in our name, we here at Justice Law Office are big fans of doing the right thing for good people. While we proudly devote our time to helping injured workers win workers’ compensation claims, we also look for other ways to help our communities and people in need. With this said, we have recently decided to support Kid’s Chance of America.
Kid’s Chance is a nationwide charity group that strives to give scholarships to children of injured workers. It is no secret that a workplace injury can be devastating to a family’s finances. If the employer or insurer doesn’t want to accept any liability, medical costs can grow out of control, necessary expenses are restricted, and anything “extra” is cut entirely. A child’s dreams of going to college and getting a higher education might be jeopardized, put on hold, or canceled altogether.
We decided to support Kid’s Chance because it is making an honest effort to close that financial gap for children in such situations. When an aspiring college student thinks his or her chances of attending university are gone because his or her mother or father was seriously injured at work, Kid’s Chance can step in and provide a means of obtaining a scholarship.
Kid’s Chance has 36 state organizations around the country, but it wants to do more for more kids. If the future of the charity group remains bright, Kid’s Chance hopes to be able to have at least one state organization in every state, and possibly more in states with larger populations. This is where you can help them make this goal a reality by providing charitable donations or offering other means of support. No one is pressured into supporting the group, of course, but we think helping others is always worth some additional thought.
